AT HJI, OUR DESIRE IS TO ADDRESS THE WHOLE PERSON, NOT JUST THE EMERGENCY OR NEED BY GETTING TO THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM.

Our goal is to help each family come up with a housing plan and connect them to the right support systems and services to help them achieve that plan. With that in mind, our programs will focus on the following areas:

Both our Emergency and Transitional Housing Programs include case management and a housing stabilization plan.

  • Emergency– Short term stays of up to 60 days.
  • Transitional Home-Program for families that lasts up to 18 months.
Upon entering our programs, guests will be assigned a mentor in addition to their case manager. This mentor provides coaching and additional support during this journey to healing and stabilization.
We have a weekly Bible Study that we strongly encourage all to attend as a way to enrich one’s soul and aid in the healing. We also have opportunities for guests to attend retreat or classes that will help manage stress and find balance in their lives.
Opportunities to gain life skills by attending workshops put on by volunteers covering topics such as: job searching, interviewing skills, budgeting, finances, nutrition, cooking healthy meals, setting proper boundaries etc.
